Tell them you support open access to vitamins, herbs, and supplements, and you do not want CAM to be regulated by the FDA. 3. Send this story to everyone you know. Spread the word. Raise the alarm. With enough public support, the FDA will be forced to back off this insane proposal. And stay tuned to NewsTarget for more news, analysis and action alerts on health freedom.

However, many of these herbs also specifically enhance sexual function either because they tweak hormonal function, improve circulation, stimulate sexual nerves or lower cortisol -- and cortisol has a real sexually suppressing effect. The only ingredient in "Hot Plants for Him" that doesn't have those broad applications actually is Yohimbe. That specifically enhances blood flow to the fine vessels of the penis. It's very targeted in that way. However, the other herbs in this formula you could just plain take them because let's say you're an athlete. You want more energy.

The only thing better than stocking up on these herbal products, by the way, is growing the herbs yourself. And I recommend you do that. Fresh herbs right out of the garden are always superior to anything in a bottle, so if you have a way to grow these anti-viral herbs year-round, that's the best strategy of all. The next best thing is a tincture like this one. Resources Fitura Power Immune: www.Fitura.com Herb reference site (to look up the anti-viral effects of these herbs): www.HerbReference.

Why cancer comes back following chemotherapy, radiation or surgery

I could write an entire article just on that, but here's something to get you started on what to investigate: The best modalities for liver cleansing are, in my opinion, Traditional Chinese Medicine and rainforest herbs (Amazon herbs). I'll be writing a lot more about Amazon herbs in the next day or two, so come back to read more about that if you want to learn about which herbs and herbal products are best at removing toxins from your liver (and restoring healthy liver function). In my opinion, there is no such thing as a cancer recovery without a healthy, functioning liver.

The importation of herbs and functional foods from all countries may be banned. Keep in mind that the FDA is the same agency that: Wants to label irradiated foods as "pasteurized." Voted to put the deadly drug Vioxx back on the market after tens of thousands of deaths, even after its own manufacurer pulled it from pharmacies. Raided a church at gunpoint, confiscating biofeedback machines and charging that they were "practicing medicine" by counseling church members on issues like depression.

Or if you're purchasing Amazon herbs from the Amazon Herb company, one company I strongly support, you know that you're getting herbs that are routinely tested for quality and purity. Most supplement companies in the United States have stringent quality control standards, but what these herbal critics are trying to do is paint the whole industry with one brush and say that just because a few imported products were found on the shelves with toxic metals, therefore the FDA should have new oversight over the entire nutritional supplement industry.

A new FDA "guidance" document, published on the FDA's website, reveals plans to reclassify virtually all vitamins, supplements, herbs and even vegetable juices as FDA-regulated drugs. Massage oils and massage rocks will be classified as "medical devices" and require FDA approval. The document is called Docket No. 2006D-0480. Draft Guidance for Industry on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Products and Their Regulation by the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA is accepting public comments on the docket until April 30th.
If you wish to protect your access to nutritional supplements, herbs, essential oils, homeopathic medicine or any other "complementary" or "alternative" modality, it is crucial that you take action to post your comments with the FDA right now and write your representatives in Washington to put a stop to this outrageous effort to destroy natural medicine. (And be sure to really write them. Just sending an email has virtually no impact compared to writing a physical letter in your own words.) Click here for the direct link to the FDA's comment posting page for this docket.

I always regret when the media says there isn't enough science on herbs, which is such complete, hilarious baloney. There's massive science on these. It's just that the herbal sector doesn't have or spend the type of marketing dollars that the pharmaceutical sector does. Mike:That's right. Kilham:If you want improved libido, sexual function and sexual pleasure by the way, then herbs can help you to have that safely and effectively. Mike:It won't cloud your mind or compromise your heart or kidneys like a lot of prescription drugs. In fact, it's the opposite.

In addition, the following herbs and supplements are well known for helping the body heal more quickly following surgery or trauma. Zinc: Best taken prior to surgery, zinc reduces wound healing time, rapidly reduces wound size, and bolsters immune function to help ward off infection. Topical zinc, such as calamine lotion, also inhibits bacteria growth on the surface of skin, helping to prevent infection. As zinc deficiency is common in the United States, most doctors recommend 30 mg/day, taken orally for four to six weeks, to bring your levels up to par before surgery.

Adaptogens: herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief

However, when combined, these herbs act synergistically to enhance their beneficial effects. This has been proven scientifically with regard to several adaptogens. Adaptogens often work better in combination than when used separately. A good example is Asian ginseng. It can be too warming and stimulating if used alone. However, when combined with licorice and astragalus, it has a broader sphere of influence and isn't overstimulating.
Throughout the history of herbal medicine, the use of multiherb formulas rather than single herbs (simples) has been the more common practice. Single-herb therapy occurs in folk traditions and as home remedies, but virtually all traditional systems of herbal medicine rely on complex and well-thought-out formulas. Unlike classic homeopathy, in which a single remedy is matched to the multitude of symptoms that a patient has, most herbalists create formulas that attempt to match a patient's complex symptom pattern.
Most readers are interested in the effects or actions that herbs have on the human body and want to know which adaptogens are useful for specific indications. This chapter will provide information about specific adaptogens that can be used for many conditions, including aging, cancer, elevated cholesterol levels, decreased immune-system function, fatigue, stress, and weight management. The disorders have been arranged alphabetically to assist readers in locating the conditions that most interest them. ADRENAL FATIGUE The adrenal glands mobilize the body's response to every kind of stress.
On the other hand, many chronic diseases such as autoimmune diseases, arthritis, migraines, and irritable bowel syndrome often are resistant to standard medical treatment, and many sufferers may find greater relief through the use of herbs, changes in diet, physical exercise, and stress reduction techniques. Both ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine teach that the free flow of energy {prana, qi) maintains health and helps to heal disease.
Tonic herbs are a part of everyday life in China and are used to maintain balance or wellness. To be considered a tonic in Chinese medicine, an herb must meet the following criteria: • Aid in the attainment of a long life; • Have broad and profound health-promoting actions; • Have no negative side effects when used reasonably and therefore can be taken continuously over a long period of time if desired, yielding cumulative, long-term benefits; • Help balance emotional and psychic energy; and • Taste good enough to be consumed easily and be easily digestible.
While we believe that the placebo effect is real and useful, herbs (including adaptogens) do not work due to belief; they have real, demonstrable physiological activity. STIMULANTS, TONICS, AND ADAPTOGENS Stimulants such as caffeine, nicotine, and amphetamines increase a person's energy and work capacity after a single dose and can increase alertness and the ability to concentrate on mental tasks. They trigger the release of stress hormones, particularly adrenaline and Cortisol, and give a quick rush. They also increase the activity of the sympathetic nervous system.

Mike:It won't cloud your mind or compromise your heart or kidneys like a lot of prescription drugs. In fact, it's the opposite. Kilham:You know, seven months after Viagra came out on the market, the United States Food and Drug Administration reported 123 Viagra-related deaths in the United States. Now, I think that's a totally unacceptable thing. A person can die from an adverse drug reaction. That's not okay by me.
Kilham:Most of the ingredients in the Hot Plants products, with the exception of yohimbe, are actually overall vitality-enhancing herbs. If you take them individually or in combination, you're just going to feel better. You'll have more energy, more stamina and more alertness. It's just kind of like when you're really having a good day. You know some days you just wake up and you think, "Yeah." That kind of feeling is what I'm talking about.

I've been researching these products for quite some time and recently took a trip to South America to interview people and research these herbs first hand. What I found is a powerful system of medicine based on rainforest herbs that can literally reverse serious diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, depression, joint inflammation and many more. Better yet, these herbs are naturally bio-compatible with the human body, meaning they have no negative side effects and operate at levels of safety that are orders of magnitude better than most prescription drugs.

Besides lending color to fruits and flowers, flavonoids are responsible for many of the medicinal properties of foods, juices, herbs, and bee pollen. More than 8,000 flavonoid compounds have been characterized and classified according to their chemical structure. Flavonoids are sometimes called "nature's biological response modifiers" because of their anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antiviral, and anticancer properties.3 The most commonly used flavonoid supplements are citrus bioflavonoids (including rutin and hesperidin), quercetin, grapeseed and pine bark extracts, and green tea extracts.
